Cash prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third place winners for the best business idea submitted via a business plan by current registered students (including recent graduates - 2006/2005/2004) from Durham University, studying any degree discipline. Business categories are:

Arts and media (including digital media)
Science and technology
Social and community enterprise
General

There are TWO stages: the Blueprint Durham University Business Planning and Creation competition, and the regional North East Universities competition.

Entries for the Blueprint Durham University Business Planning and Creation competition must be submitted by 5.00pm on Friday 26th January 2007 by sending an outline of your initial business idea.

Semi-finalists for the Blueprint Durham University Business Planning and Creation competition will be notified by 5.00pm on Friday 2nd February 2007.

Semi-finalists for the Blueprint Durham University Business Planning and Creation competition will each be assigned a mentor to assist in working up their ideas up into full business plans.

Final submission of full business plans by 5.00pm on Friday 27th April 2007.

 

The winner of the Blueprint Durham University Business and Creation Planning competition will be automatically entered into the regional North East Universities Business Planning competition, competing head-to-head with winners from the Universities of Newcastle, Northumbria, Teesside and Sunderland.
